As I turn my focus toward Christmas and the REAL Reason for the Season, JESUS, I have to think of preparing my heart to receive my Saviour anew. How can I know Him more this year?
I was watching The Nativity Story and something caught my attention. When Mary and Joseph are traveling toward Bethlehem, they stop at a shepherd's fire to warm up. He says to her, "We are each given a gift, yours is what you carry inside of you." Then later in the movie when the baby is born and the shepherds come to see, this old shepherd kneels down and reaches out toward them and draws his hand back. Mary looks at him and says, "He is for all mankind. We each are given a gift." She reminds him of his own words to her that the "gift" was what she carried inside and he realizes that we all have been given that same gift. Through the resurrection of Christ we can all carry this Gift inside us! All He is He is in you! That's exciting!
I encourage you in these days before Christmas to reevaluate what's inside of you. Don't get caught up in the trappings of tradition, but seek a quiet place to get with God and ask Him how you can know Him better in this season. As I look back of this year 2011, I see many times that I missed the mark, many times I said the wrong thing or just plain messed up, and I am reminded just how imperfect I am and how very much I need this Gift every single day! I am so thankful that God sent His son wrapped up in flesh to meet us where we are!
Share the Gift with someone else every day! All He is, He is in you!
Now all I need to do is create user profiles and get other leaders interested in posting! Pray for me!
On with Wednesday's Word:
Never let the devil disconnect you from the power of God! He will use your own desires to try to do the disconnect. Anything we indulge in can put our flesh in control rather than our spirit man. It's a slippery slope. Indulgence means taking unrestrained pleasure in something. It's not a small issue folks. Read these words in 1 Peter 2:11, "Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul." That's pretty strong language for what desires do inside of us. They wage war against us. Thank God that we are more than conquerors through Him that loves us! See Romans 8:37
That's all for today. Be blessed my friends!

Well another week has flown past and I am still buried in website setup! HELP!
I can't believe tomorrow is Friday again and then another weekend away from the website and Monday I have to refresh my mind and start in again. I haven't accomplished enough this week. Can someone slow down time?
Sigh! Well each day takes us closer to completion I guess. Hang in there with me. Thanks for your patience!
